PHILANTHROPY, FUN AND FAMECO

PLYMOUTH MEETING, PA.-- Mission accomplished. Back in August Fameco commenced a multi-faceted United Way campaign. The campaign was kicked off by the Dunk-a-Partner Challenge at our company picnic. Since then Fameco was busy preparing for its makeover of the School House Lane Home for Girls in Germantown, PA as part of the United Way’s annual Day of Caring event. On September 19th over 50 Fameconians descended upon this home armed with paint brushes, power tools, shovels, energy and desire.  By day’s end the house was transformed.

"Not only did we paint the interior and portions of the exterior, we also redecorated the Home with new accessories, cleaned up and landscaped the front yard with flowers and a seating area, and with the help of A&E Construction refurbished a flagstone patio, among other fix-up projects," said Brandon Famous, CEO and founder of the retail real estate firm based in Plymouth Meeting, Pa.  The School House Lane Home for Girls is one of a number of homes run by the Baptist Children’s Services.  According to Nancy Guthridge, Coordinator of Program Resources for Baptist Children’s Services, “the girls have a huge sense of pride for both the inside and the outside of the house.  They are meticulous about cleaning and keeping up the appearance.”

Famous said that the firm has often raised money for the United Way

and other charities, but "the personal involvement in helping to fix up the School House Lane Home for Girls gave all of us at Fameco a really good feeling of accomplishment.  And the results were terrific!"
