FAMECO LEASES SPACE TO AKSM/ONCOLOGY IN LAWRENCEVILLE, NJ

PLYMOUTH MEETING, PA  — Fameco Real Estate, L.P., the region’s foremost full service retail real estate brokerage and property management firm, is pleased to announce that it has leased 8,000 square feet to AKSM/Oncology.

In today’s challenging retail real estate market leasing space is increasingly difficult. Fameco’s Perry GraBois and Fred Younkin  thought outside the box and secured a non-traditional retail use  for the 8,000 square feet left by a former Tweeter store located a quarter mile south of the intersection of US Route 1 and Quakerbridge/Providence Line Road in Lawrenceville, NJ. Makefield Holdings is the landlord.

According to GraBois, “a non-traditional retail use can be great alternative to a more mainstream retailer particularly if the space has some challenges. In this case, while it’s great real estate in a vibrant market, it’s visibility to US 1 is not optimal. A medical use, like AKSM, does not require that same street frontage.”  Ohio-based AKSM will partner with Princeton Premier Oncology at this location. The oncology center is expected to open in March 2010.
