Commercial real estate prices fell 4% as the economy stumbled in June, according to the Moody’s/REAL All Property Type Aggregate Index.

Broomall Pathmark checking out; 108 to lose jobs

The Pathmark supermarket in the Broomall section of Marple Township will close its doors around October 13th.  In addition to closing this store, the Bristol, Bucks County, store will also close in October, according to a letter the parent company wrote to state officials.

Trexlertown shopping center getting face-lift

In an effort to bring in more tenants and revamp the Trexlertown Shopping center on Hamilton Boulevard the ownership has signed a lease with GIANT Supermarket. GIANT relocating from the Shoppes at Trexler. The new store will be an 20,000 SF larger that the one at Trexler and accommodate a café and an expanded health and beauty and organic food selection.

The recession means great business for discounters

Discounters’ growth in the Lehigh Valley has cut the retail vacancy rate to 5.2 percent.  The region’s vacancy rate was 6.9 percent in the year prior.
